My FW bonnet splayed out a bit when it was off to do the radiator ducting. I got myself worked up a bit when I refitted mine and it wouldn't close properly, but then I remembered reading about how it was a common issue, especially at shows. I think it's 7mm deep left over from another job. It definitely won't be seen but it gives it higher standard of finish.
