Flying Carrot Steve Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I can't find any identifying numbers on the 1st one I've opened so not sure which JK model they are but should be able to work it out from the measurements as I have them for all the seats they used to make. 1 Quote
Euan Hoosearmy Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Wasn't quite from the postie as my wife gave this to me as part of my birthday present. Hoodie done by Blue Storm Designs - will do custom hoodies if you supply the image. Can also do more complex custom designs if needed. 4 Quote

Both with seat pads, one with a runner as well. And they have the crotch hole for a 5/6 point harness all of which I was not expecting, so very pleased. With a clean and polish they should look great. Sat in one, blimey, super comfy. Can't wait to replace my Sport Turbo Anniversary seats. 4 Quote

Ansoeb Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Protech Shocks Socks. I got these for the rear only after having cleaned up the shocks and fitting new Spax progressive springs. Hopefully it will keep all the crud off. Yes I am a bit of a clean freak. 3 Quote

Never seen such a thing, how does it work? Do you use it on the damper on the actual running car? Quote

Yes it goes over the whole shock and spring assembly on the car. I came across it on their website and called them to order. The guy on the phone uses them on his MR2, the idea of it appealed to my OCD cleaning. Only on the rear though as I clean the front when washing Quote
eggontoast Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Are these neoprene covers? I'd be concerned about trapping moisture against the shock. I have seen Mtb rear shock seals and even springs fail prematurely, with the cause thought to be accelerated environmental degradation as the shocks never really dried out. Quote

Yes they are neoprene, I suppose the environmental impact of dirt against the seals could be a contributing factor to degradation the same as moisture. I thought I would give them a try plus I don't go out in the wet, I have been caught out in heavy rain before though. They are easy to remove and dry out at least. Quote
eggontoast Posted December 6 Posted December 6 I've just had all 4 of my shocks rebuilt as one of them suddenly got emotional and cried out all of its oil. The cause of this was deemed to be corrosion to the shafts that damaged the seals, resulting in the leak. 4x new shafts plus the corresponding updated seals and plates to match the only (bigger) currently supplied shafts was not cheap. They were 16 years old but I'm extra wary of this sort of issue now. I did just last night twig I could take out the boot box to clean off everything under there, though. 1 Quote
