I don't understand it myself, priced to sell fast and no takers? Not advertised anywhere else, maybe should have done that.

A few thoughts:

Photos of the engine compartment and interior will help.

How many miles on the clock?

The decals are very personal but a few of them might well put off perspective buyers (or their spouses).  Rather like when selling a house, it’s often better to have a blank slate.  You might have more interest if you remove them.

While honesty in an ad is always a virtue, spending a bit of time and cash to sort the engine ticking issue can only reassure a buyer.

The ticking noise when warm could be the Timing chain Tensioner. Loads online about these being a weak point for the S2000.

I've just bought a Blox racing one for the same reason. Haven't manged to install yet to 100% confirm, as I'm away for work atm.

Nope. It's known to happen with new items too! @Rob Hunter - Club Secretary  bought an aftermarket one recently rather than fix the Honda part.

But thanks for your kind offer!

The first time mine was done was during my build, so I don't know if it was going to rattle if I didn't do it. The 2nd time was after our Alps trip in 2023 and just sometimes when dropping to idle I could hear a rattle, but not every time. The vapour blasting fixed it.

You can see the shine on this video here-

Here's it after blasting-

That's what's mine doing.

Sounds like a quick fix, fix it and add another 5 grand to the asking price eh?

Yeah, I went for the normal OEM part as I managed to get a great price from Jap Service Parts.

I've now got the old one to dismantle and modify.

Be interesting to see how the Blox one performs as it operates in a different way to the OEM and Ballade Sports replacements

£2.5K each then ? 😉

It's quick and easy so worth doing! You just need to wind a screw into it to hold the tension, once the cover is removed.

The blox racing one is currently on overstock lower price.

But delivery was expensive. So a group buy would be good idea.

I seen posts in the S2K forum from the guy who designed it and sold the idea to Blox. He runs an S2000 in some American race series.

I like the spring loaded ratchet idea.

It seems some on the oem one, drill the oil supply hole larger.

I'll report back about the Blox one when I install, but I'm at work for another 4 weeks yet.
