How does this work for folks ? From the north east ; 9am Dufftown clock tower 10am Aviemore petrol station ( meet up with any from Inverness ) Main rendesvouz !! 11am Fort William, sainsbury petrol station / McDonald’s ( coffee ) and meet up with folk from the south / Inverness NB supreme around the corner at the other petrol station 12.30 Mallaig Depending on time / weather either straight back to fort William or around Ardnamuchan to the Corran ferry then homewards with a wee cake stop at Laggan bridge. Gary Taylor
An eventful day saw us leave Dufftown in heavy rain but it faired as we got to aviemore where we met up with the lads from Inverness then it was off along the old A9 to Newtonmore , cross country to Laggan , Spean bridge and Fort William to meet up with those from down south. Filled up with fuel and joined everyone at McD’s for a coffee. Unfortunately here we learnt one lad had a wee mishap but was safe and awaiting recovery ( home safely ) then one car wouldn’t start , a decision was made a couple of us would stay and get him sorted out, the rest to head up to Mallaig where Gordon was waiting, unfortunately the non starting was something more sinister and recovery was arranged. Meanwhile the troops had arrived at mallaig got pictures and enjoyed their fish n chips . Eventually the recovery arrived and said he was going to Inverness and another would finish to home……. 3 hrs in Inverness and no truck … I headed home to get the car and trailer, a couple with an empty trailer got it closer so after rearranging plans we got sorted and dropped off at midnight and I got back home just after 1am Here’s a few pics from today and some that were taken by others. Thank you all for coming and it was great to see a good mix of cars, hope the 2 cars are back on the road soon. Cheers Gary
