BobM Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Quick blat in the sun for me too today. First time out in the car with no helmet, hat or coat. Just the shades. Luvverly Got home and decided to have a look how the tyres are getting on. Fronts are fine, rears are only just legal I reckon If they only last 1200 miles in the winter when I'm scared of the car what's it going to be like come the summer?? Quote

I AM NOT A NUMBER!!! Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 F*ck im.... ......…..necrophilia on the WSCC, whatever next? I though that particular perversion was only discussed amongst the scurrilous Blatchatters. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 First proper blast of 2003! Got "The Wench" serviced and MOT'd yesterday, cleaned her top to bottom this morning, then out we go! Barreling down the Fosse and over to Edgehill for a spot of lunch, not a vehicle on four wheels or two in my way for 15 miles! What a run! Then caught up with an Audi TT and showed it a clean set of heels. Thumbs up from some of the loads of bikers on the way, great stuff. Tear back through Wellesbourne and Warwick, blatting nicely. 50 mile run, frozen hands, stupid grin... ah, it's great to be alive!!! Quote
westy Posted March 16, 2003 Author Posted March 16, 2003 Sitting in the study with the window open this morning all I heard was bikes starting up all round my estate a few minutes after each other. Then the voices of nagging wife’s as they chased after their husbands yielding D.I.Y lists and muttering something about cutting grass... Jan, 'bout time that scooby sunk isnt it? Quote
minghis Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 After yesterday's speedy, baiting type of blat the only way I could get away with it today was to put the sidescreens on and take Mrs Minghis. Typical, the weather was better due to the lack of cold winds. Amazed at how much difference the sidescreens make, didn't have to take the cap off at all and stick it under the thigh. Hate the lack of elbow room though. I managed to get a reasonable scuff on for short periods before I was screamed at, and found that if I cruised along in 5th for the straights I could get away with a downchange and squirt around the corners before being shouted at again. I just hope next weekend is as good. Minghis. Quote
david.c Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Tear back through Wellesbourne and Warwick, blatting nicely. 50 mile run, frozen hands, stupid grin... ah, it's great to be alive!!! Captain, was it you that went through Stratford yesterday? Quote
gregh Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 I was out Friday and sunday, and an Elise (with roof on) flashed and waved at me (why??) greg Quote
chrisbin Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Welcome back Captain! No stories to recount - too busy with kids, gardening, new barbeque to put together, etc etc Great weather though..... I'm working from home again on Wednesday....... Quote
mmmmdonuts Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 gregh - I also got waved at by an elise driver yesterday, and have been before. I guess it is is just the vague similarity of the stripped out speedy car. Quote
