Questions regarding our trip to Europe.....

Just looking for some advise regarding our upcoming trip.  14 day trip leaving Aberdeenshire to Portsmouth then over by ferry to St Malo and down to Monaco for a few days then to Lake Como and onto Interlaken then up to Amsterdam and then on the ferry to Newcastle and back to Aberdeen...

We have looked at the best ways to pay on the toll roads and we're thinking about using Telepass rather than paying direct at the tolls, anyone used this option before or any other companies that does prepaid.

As we all know the Westfields don't hold a lot of fuel, is it better to take a can of fuel with us or will there be plenty of stations on this route.

Any advise on the best breakdown cover for this sort of trip.

Paying direct at the tolls is always more fun .. being at the wrong side its like a pit stop carry on film 😁

I use tolltickets.com who can provide automated toll tags for France and Italy and also the vignettes you'll need if you're travelling through Switzerland and Austria. For the small fee they charge, not having to faff around picking up a ticket, or trying to find change at each tollbooth, especially if you're travelling solo with full harness belts, it's an absolute joy to sail through with the automatic gate opening up before you.

I've got one of these in my car for our summer holidays: https://www.atmb.com/en/our-offers/etp-subscription/light-vehicles/liber-t-evasion. You only pay for the month in which you are using it, and with a fee free debit card (like Starling, Revolut, etc) on the account it is painless.  Most toll roads have one of those 30km/h lanes too where the badge is read remotely, where you don't even need to stop!

Thanks I'll have a look, sounds like that's what we need.

I'll have a look at this one also, guess we need to see if it works in Italy
