Oxford cable repair kit, comes with different bits to bodge a get-home for your car, and your mate's - worth every penny of £10. So ideal was one of the ferrules in the kit for my throttle body, I run the Oxford cable and ferrule inside a Venhill outer.

I use a tin very similar to this. One half is a few nuts n bolts of common sizes M4, 5, 6, 8. Washers to suit. Wound up throttle cable. Then I put a thin bit of foam in the tin. The top half has fuses, electric crimps, some wire. The tin is then closed and electrical tape wound round 4 or 5 times to seal it up. The tape is then useful for other things.

You need

Gaffer tape

Garden wire

Strip of metal about 6in long by 20mm ish... Or an Allen key... If summink snaps use tape, metal as a splint, wire wrapped round, more tape... It'll get you home
