DIY-Si
As part of reviewing my brakes, I'm considering swapping out the M/C for the AP Racing version. What have you, and how much would you want to be parted from it? I believe the AP part number is CP4627-3.
Andy - a15cro
I’ve been looking for one for ages, just missed out on the last one. Even spoke to AP direct and they are not making any at present as Westfield don’t order them anymore, but if a vicious circle that can’t be broken easily! DIY-Si
I've found they are currently thin on the ground, but didn't realise ot was because they weren't making any. Equally, they can't have been making them just for Westfield surely?! Caterham use the same master after all, or at least they used to.
Andy - a15cro
I spoke to Westfield, they said AP’s lead times were too long, I spoke to AP who said that Westfield orders had stopped. There is a Cateringvan equivalent but it was very expensive and then life took over and I parked it for a while!
Si.Dalziel
@DIY-Si Last time I spoke to @Westfield Parts Deptthey said that if they had enough people committed they would put an order in. The Westfield orders are relatively small in the grand scheme of things so they don’t get priority on small orders hence the long lead times. It May be worth starting a post to try and drum up enough people for an order of a decent size and maybe you will get a brand new one. Its certainly worth the upgrade.
Andy - a15cro
Let’s start a list then. Shall we do it in a separate post? 1, @Andy - a15cro
jeff oakley
It has always struck me as strange that AP are the only ones to make this. The body is generic and it is only the insides that are special in the way they are made. I would have thought approaching someone like LPR in Italy, Willwood in the states our indeed GBS who have manufacturing capabilities for CNC etc could make a similar 60/40 split master cylinder to suit. There clearly is a demand as every time they are available they sell out in a flash
Westfield Chesil Limited
AP lead times are 6 months minimum. Account manager advised it isn't worth making the master cylinders. This product is no longer available. Regards Parts Dept.

Andrzej
May I ask what is so special in this AP MC ? what bore and stroke are those and front to rear ratio ? I assume for floor mounting the side outlets are an advantage over Wilwood Tandem MC which has bottom outlets. But beside that, wonder what advantages over the Wilwood Tandem MC has this AP MC ?
