Si.Dalziel
After rebuilding my S2000 gearbox I fell into a sideline of collecting and rebuilding S2000 gearboxes. I currently have a fully rebuilt pre facelift version sat waiting for a new home. Whilst it’s currently aimed at S2000 owners, there may be a Mega S2000 owner who could get more benefit from it. If I can cover the cost of parts I would be willing to trade this box against another members one. If anyone has an issue with noisy bearings or rough gear selections this is aimed at you. It came from a car with 65,000 miles on so it’s relatively low miles for what’s out there. It’s had a full strip and clean. All bearings and seals have been replaced and fully checked before reassembly. If you don’t fancy pulling your engine and box out yourself but are willing to help, you could bring your car to me and we could swap them here. It currently owes me in the region of £400 so that’s the price of a straight trade, which is an absolute bargain for a club member. Its just waiting on the new release bearing guide to arrive from Japan and it’s ready to go. Any questions feel free to fire me a message or add a comment. 7
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO
@Si.Dalziel may I suggest you add the cost of the genuine Honda items to the post, to help members understand what a great offer this is?

I’m fairly sure anyone that owns a Honda knows that parts are expensive, however I do get asked a lot so:- £250-Bearings/seals etc £50-Release bearing guide £25-Honda MTF-3 oil. £150-gearbox cost (splitting this cost) I haven’t included the cost of cleaning materials or the approx 10 hours it takes to strip, clean, remove/press bearings and rebuild. I have rebuilt my own gearbox and it’s currently going strong with ~3500 miles on it. I have refurbed a few others which I sold and have had no complaint about. A lot of people reach out for advice which has led to me rebuilding 2 with the assistance of their owners with a 3rd booked to come over soon. I also have a facelift gearbox in the wings to rebuild as my spare but it’s never made it to the top of the pile as others keep stealing it’s new parts.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
This is a bargain! Plus you know it's been rebuilt by someone who actually cares what they're doing! 2
