Quinten Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 It was going well, until the internal server management software was updated. This caused no end of unexpected errors, which meant that eventually we had to resort to our backup. To be continued... 4 Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 @Quinten Uijldert - Webmaster @ACW Guys, I'm starting to get people reaching out to me asking when the forum will come back on-line. It appears some are still getting the server down/site unreachable messages, whatever browser they try and from multiple devices. Quote
Quinten Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 We've fallen back to the original server, on a new IP address. What users are seeing is the old IP address unfortunately. Surprised it has still not fully propagated, but that's the internet unfortunately. I have no control over the TTL settings. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hi Quinten, thanks. have just been getting one of the guys affected to use an external DNS, (Google's server) sorted the issue out, so it may be a case of some peoples routers being slow to update cached DNS queries too. 1 Quote
Richard (OldStager) Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 We're back 👍 It sounded quite an ordeal, sorry it didn't exactly go to plan. I was one of those who was unable to get back on, tried again before bed (2am) and still nothing. Not to worry it's working now. Thanks all for the hard work in the background. Quote

That’s odd, this is an iPhone 6 and it’s fine, I am on giffgaff rather than EE and works fine away from Wi-Fi. Quote

I saw that earlier today on my Android tablet and it’s still occurring. It’s fine on my iphone. 👍🏼 Quote

Quinten Posted March 6, 2022 Author Posted March 6, 2022 We are looking into this, but I'm unsure yet where the issue lies. I had the same issue on my laptop (OSX) and after removing the stored SSL certificate from the keychain and then re-adding it and setting the settings on the certificate to Always Trust it hasn't been an issue. On my work laptop (Windows) it wasn't an issue. It may be a server issue, it may be a client issue, hence the investigation is still ongoing. 1 Quote
McFrancis Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 My newer Android phone was unaffected with the issue above, but my Android tablet was having the same issued described. Clearing the browser history appears to have fixed it. Quote
