I am helping to clear my late Uncles workshops and garages.

we have a lot of metal items that are really only scrap. We also have a large metal corrugated roof to get rid of.

Most skip hire companies only seem to want general waste, Scrap Metal dealers seem to want you to take it to them.

Dose anyone know if there are any companies that let you fill a skip and take it away. if we can get some money great but for the bulk of it its probably mixed steel and iron.

The aluminium and copper I could probably sort out and take myself in a trailer. Well several trailers.

Any ideas for someone in the North West / Cheshire area?

Thanks

Ian

Put an ad on Facebook marketplace, around here there’s normally plenty of local companies willing to take it away for free.

alternatively put it in your car and take it to the local recycling centre, that’s where mine normally goes.

If it's light & bulky scrap then the skip/haulage cost will probably be higher than the value of the material. That's generally why scrap merchants don't put skips out to Joe public. Take it to them and they'll happily pay you good money for it.

Thanks

Far to much to put in a car unfortunately. I recon we could fill at least 2/3 good sized skips.

Could sort it all out and put an add on Facebook though.

@Stuart. yes I think that's what we are finding. not enough to make it viable but too much to just move normally
