Buy Modules vs Individual Parts

Hi all.  I've ordered modules 1 and 2 and am trying to decide the most cost effective way to move forward.  I'm going to supply my own engine, wheels and tyres but am not sure whether to buy modules 4, 5 and 6 or purchase the bits on my own.

Has anyone costed up the difference between sourcing brand new bits to complete a build post rolling chassis? - Is it significantly cheaper to go to wholesalers and buy instruments, switches, lights, radiator, battery, seats, tubing, clips, bolts etc.  If so, where can I get a comprehensive Bill of Materials that tells me all the bits and pieces that I would need top build a 'typical' car.

I would appreciate some views

Anthony ;)

I guess it depends. It depends on

a) whether you can be arsed to hunt for the bargains on each and every item

b) having the worry/hassle of not knowing if a particular component is actually suitable before purchasing

c) the type of car you want to build in the first place. Ali panels or carpets? Windscreen or aeroscreen? (sorry, 'the modules dont mean anything to me).

It's a bit like supermarket shopping. You will save on factory prices on some things, lose on others.

I guess the build manual is a good place to start, ot look through the various members build pages.
