Benrobson2999 - Kent AO Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 I was just looking at southern kit car club (SKCC) European trips on you tube and wondered if the WSCC ever did organised UK or Euro weekends/weeks away like these? I know the last couple of years have put a stop to all that but is it something to look forward to in the future? Quote

No official WSCC trips, but many members organise their own trips. I've had 3 great euroblats and the last one is documented here- We planned to revisit in 2020 then 2021, but alas something got in the way. Others include: We'll all happily share advise / experiences etc, just ask. 4 cars/drivers is a nice number for us (Ferry cabin's sleep 4). I imagine bigger groups become harder to reach consensus etc. 2 Quote
Onliest Smeg David Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 I'm not aware of a 'club' eu trip in my 10+ years of membership (sure someone will correct me if wrong) There are usually several 'individually' 'locally' organised trips, but many aren't advertised and some a distinctly closed shop. One of the issues of a organising a club wide tour is numbers and logistics of convoys. Someone has to be prepared to put a lot of work in to organise and manage before and throughout tour. 1 1 Quote

Kingster Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 We generally do a “tour” every year from the north east usually up to the highlands but I have also organised an Alps trip before. The Highlands tours are organised by a local mate (not a WSCC member) who is a Dax owner and we tend to get a mix of “sevens” as well as Elises, VX220’s and even the odd beemer M1 - so we are not “cliquey” 😁 There used to be a “tour seven” group my mate belonged to and they usually stayed in top notch hotels and even had a dedicated support vehicle that the group owned! 1 Quote

Went every year from 1999 to about 2012 with a couple missed but haven't been since then. I'd love to restart my regular pilgrimage but at the moment there is too much life going on. Just watch out for the Gendarmes... Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 I organised a few holidays that I opened up to the club. Had some great times. Quote
