Is it ok to apply then only do a few local events to see how I get on???

What else do I need apart from a car ;)

Regards,

Greg

PS I have just dropped Mark a note for the beginners guide.

Greg,

Yes - that's what I'm doing. It doesn't cost much to reg, but I doubt I'll be able to afford to do any rounds until mid-season.  You can pick and choose from the impressive 28 (or whatever it is) rounds which can count.  Obviously the more rounds you do, the higher your chance of coming out with a good 10 best scores for the championship.

.

I distinctly remember saying exactly the same pre start of last season.....Then I did 10 events!! Would have been 13 had I not encountered  a bit of "surge" mid season

What else do I need apart from a car

A driver :D:D:D:D

Non Race Licence National B (Fancy forgetting that! )

Timing Strut (and forgetting that as well... )

Overalls to appropriate standard

Helmet to appropriate standard - see scrutineer at your first meeting with £1 for RAC helmet sticker

Tyres applicable to your competition class

Oil Catch tank - 1 litre min

Yellow tape on battery earth lead

Label indicating operation of ignition switch

Any thing else in the Blue Book that I haven't mentioned

MOT Cert for road going classes (must be presented to Scrutineer at each event)

Pit babe

Additional advisable items IMO

RAC Roll Bar

Race booties

Flame retardant racing gloves

Flame retardant socks

Powerful and light car (Unless in SS class A....)

I did three events last year, and plan to do five this year.  'Tis great fun, a real buzz from competition, and a very friendly atmosphere in the paddock.
