geoffd Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Just what you always wanted! I’m selling my hydraulic scissor lift. It was made by accompany called Autec. It has a capacity of 2000 kg, and the lift height is about 90 cm. It was bought in 2002 from Holden. It’s not had heavy use, but it has been most useful over the years for all sorts of maintenance under the car. The four arms swing out so you can line them up with the jacking points of the car. There are rubber blocks to put under the jacking points. The rubber blocks slide along the arms, so it can accommodate different widths of vehicles. When flat, the length is about 250 cm, and it’s about 91 cm wide. You will need about 13cm under your car to clear the lift. My car (not the Westfield) is rather lower, so I made some ramps from 2 x 4 wood – you can see these in the pictures. These work well, and you are welcome to have these with the lift. The pump is 240v single phase, and works from a normal 3 pin socket. The oil reservoir is under the pump. The hose can be disconnected for transport. As the lift height increases, the mechanism causes the car to move forward, so you need to make sure you have space to allow for this. The lift is very heavy – about ¼ tonne if I remember correctly. It will take at least four strong people to lift it, ideally more! There are castors for manoeuvring on a flat floor. These may be enough to get it on to a tail lift of a van or truck, but I’ve never tried this. The purchaser will have to provide their own transport and muscle! The lift is in good working order, and fairly clean after a session with some degreaser. I’m selling because as I’m getting older, I’m finding it more difficult to get round the car in its single width garage to arrange the arms to the right positions for lifting. The lift is in Ruislip, Middlesex. I will be happy to demonstrate it. How much? £500 will do nicely!
Wowblaauw Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Hi Geoff, Very interested; where are you based? Thanks Craig
Rusty Nuts Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Geoff, if Wowblaauw declines - I'm interested. Wowblaauw - Geoff is in Ruislip - London I think.
geoffd Posted September 22, 2021 Author Posted September 22, 2021 Thankk you both for your interest. I'm in Ruislip, the nearest "big" place is Uxbridge. Ruislip is a couple of miles north of the A40 as it goes into London. Here is a link to Google Maps https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.5878273,-0.454631,14z?hl=en
Wowblaauw Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 When would you need this moving? I’m up in Doncaster but couldn’t get to you for several weeks.
geoffd Posted September 22, 2021 Author Posted September 22, 2021 I'm OK with 2 or three weeks, more would be less convenient for me. does that help at all?
Wowblaauw Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Ok and thanks for the update. Yes it helps but I see Hammie has a quicker resolution for you as I don’t think I’ll be able to make it this side of the middle of October. If it doesn’t work out then please let me know.
