Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator
We all need a negative covid test within 3 days of departure from Santander and decided to do them today in Leon 20 miles south rather than in Santander on the day of departure. We took the fast route to Leon town centre which is a lovely city, we had to split up to find parking then were met by the road trip parking conundrum... trying to work out how the dreaded parking ticket machine works 😅 Anyway we sussed it and booked in for test with a 45 min wait so went for a butchers at the Cathedral And messing about a bit Me and Wayne were last in for the tests and had received graphic details of the process from the others, we walked in with our little WSCC knees trembling but tried to hide it as best we could from the rather good looking young female nurse who pulled out two swap sticks which looked longer than my blacktop Zetec dipstick 😳 Any I braved it first and said right nostril please and safe to say I’ve never had a pretty nurse make my eyes water like that before ! Waynes procedure also went without as much as a wimper (we agreed our story beforehand) No phone call in 30 minutes means your negative and can log in with code for certificate.. all good. Quick Burger King then we all went back to our cars except Terry two nostrils who couldn’t find his 🤣 Terry made his own way back to hotel, Wayne and Pandas went swimming and me and Nakki has a blatt to a local lake 😎
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator
Woke up this morning to a fluid leak under my car, dripping off the bottom of the bell housing, a quick taste confirmed it was coolant. The leak was traced to the thermostat housing between the main body and the end that removes for stat access. The cover is held on by 4 torque screws but non of us had one in our tool kits to nip it up! I do have a spare stat housing in boot but decided to try 10 miles get car up to temp and see what happens, at first stop seems to have stopped 🥵 1
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator
We have travelled just short of 100 miles today over the Picos mountain range which is quite stunning with some nice twisties following rivers and roads climbing some very Jaggered looking mountains. We stopped at the summit for a photo shoot before descending down some fast hairpins to our last hotel La Molinuca located in the middle of nowhere giving us a short 40 mile blast tomorrow to Santander for the boat home 😎 .

Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator
A bit misty at the hotel this morning as we left, 50 miles to the boat and my coolant level is holding 😎 Terrys route had pushpins which took us on some dodgy roads ! 2
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Very scenic route! Does the hotel normally cater for Americans?
