Stu Faulkner Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 What website do people use for booking train tickets? Cheap, obviously. Thanks in advance Quote
Matt_S Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 @Stu Faulkner I use the Trainline app, pays to book well in advance and try and do a group saver 👍🏼 1 Quote
Blatman Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Go to the train company site as well as they sell tickets direct. Cut out the middle-men... 1 Quote
Rhett Turner - Black Country AO Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Depends upon the journey, if a straight forward, single provider I tend to go direct, but I'll also look on Trainline. One of the benefits of the direct booking is that you may be able to choose your seats rather just accepting what's allocated. I do visit London frequently so can choose a seat closer to the exit at the destination station. 1 Quote
cast iron Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 trainline, however there is a limit as to how early you can book 1 Quote
Stuart Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Trainline have an email alert system that lets you know when the cheap tickets become available. Then book with someone who doesn't charge a booking fee and/or postage. All train operators sell tickets for all train operators and I use First Great Western (haven't booked any for a while though) 1 Quote
Mole Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 And believe it or not if local trip then sometimes you can get a deal going into the starting station and actually talking to a human being being the desk! Just like the old days.. 1 Quote
