Apparently these are getting like finding rocking horse poo. Someone out there upgrading to a Zetec, etc??? Old school standard, or part/fully modified but must be in sound condition and have good provenance, proof, etc (eg pressure tested head, usual checks). Ideally a 711M (6015 BA) block. Exhaust manifold to suit Westfield side exit would also be a bonus. Clutch and other ancillaries, also a bonus, depending on condition. Anything out there?? Trying to avoid eBay, etc. I don't use Facebook, but if you do and know of something, details gratefully received! Thank you.

Hi @GarethHD a friend with a Ford affliction, suggests no GS Escorts or the Escort Agency.

Not that I'm googling either of those!

Thanks pco sorry don’t know your name. If you could ask I’d be very grateful. Do assure him it would be going to a good home!

I have a 711 bare block, but it does need a rebore , it's currently on standard sized bore and given the wear it would most likely need either +30 or +40 pistons to be usable. I also have the crank from the same block as well as all the rods etc, the only thing I don't have spare is the head and a sump pan ( They truly are rocking horse poo!).

Also don't be put off by the 691 block, the only difference between that and the 711 is the cam lifter size, 11mm in the 691 and 13mm in the 711. Unless you are using the motor for competition and need +90 pistons in it, a 691 is adequate for road use, mine is on +60's now and goes like stink.

It's getting quite a dear do to rebuild these engines now, I did mine 4 years ago and it would have been far less expensive to fit a Zetec or similiar but I wanted to keep the Xflow.

ETA - The 4 nearside engine mounting lugs on the block of the  691 are 10mm shorter than the 711's nearside lugs. Four 10mm spacers in alloy or steel will solve this for you.

Hi Gareth

He has said he will sell it, not sure on its worth. He says it turns over freely with good compression. He thinks there's some polishing on the head and a racey cam in it.

Send me a PM if your interested

Hi Paul, ok thank you for asking! What’s on the engine? Is it just block and head or does it have any manifolds, carb, clutch, etc? Don’t suppose you can get a couple of photos? Cheers Gareth
