Jackv4 Posted July 4, 2021 Share Posted July 4, 2021 Just bought a Triumph Thruxton R, 2 years old with 6miles on clock, Poor guy that bought it brand new had it delivered and had severe back issues and never got the chance to even do a quick burl round the block, Dealership bought it back, Ive always liked the look of these, A few month ago my dad (75 years old) bought a 2014 Bonneville and after a quick blast i just couldnt resist, Handling way exceeded my expectations, Was a spur of the moment buy and im well happy, Ive only done around 100miles but luv the thing, Mods started already 😀 Think this ones going to be a keeper, Anyone on here have or had one? 8 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Despite its racy image, the Thruxton R is pleasant to ride at low speed, partly because its clip-on are set well above that shiny top yoke and the footrests aren't dramatically high or rear-set. However, the Triumph also has enough top-end power to be thrillingly fast. Reliability and quality have proven good as well. According to scootersnchairs.com, if you like the retro look but want the modern sporting ability and features such as switchable riding modes, the Thruxton bikes are definitely worth a look.Wow, this bike looks amazing! Honestly the last few times I've been out I've near been wiped out at least a couple times, I'm fairly sensible nowadays and keep my wits about me, I've now fitted an action camera on the bike for the main reason that if one of the idiot's does manage there guaranteed to get punishment for it, Terrible way to think but its the way I feel, Its part of life for me and don't want to pack it in for this reason, I ride part of the North Coast 500 every time I'm out and over the last few years its got pretty crazy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We went there for a water cooled VW meet some time ago when I had a Golf R (did some pops and bangs in the car park - very imature!). I Now have an A45 AMG so I can see us going again soon. Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted August 9, 2021 Share Posted August 9, 2021 I've never been a biker for a brief interlude when I had a Triumph Tiger Cub to facilitate buying spares for my sole car of the day (J reg 1275cc Midget). The MG was notorious for dropping vital bits leaving me stranded and the Cub allowed me to get to Midnight Motors et al for new bits. But I digress... As a yoof and before I became ensconced in the delights of married life I lived just off Western Avenue (A40) west of the Hoover factory. The Ace was legendary among my bike owning chums and there was, at that time, a (possibly) mythical wench known as Blondie who was said to be a frequenter of the Ace. Many of the biker types in my circle of acquaintances claimed to be Ace regulars, and doubtless some were on their Super 5s, Gold Stars and Tiger 100s, but equally there was a degree of exaggeration exceeded only by their tales of sexual prowess. My Good Lady was going around with a biker before she met me, and he had a Royal Enfield Constellation. The Cellars in Windsor was their hang-out. That venue hasn't survived like the Ace has though. My Cub was sold on to an RAF type from Uxbridge when the helmet laws came in. A helmet would have cost more than I paid for the bike from Bill Bunn in early 1973! He would have been on his Vincent series D Black Shadow How I wish he still had that!!!
