We're leaving ours at 5pm, going a longer way up to Dunkeld for Friday night supper - apparantly their chippy is in the top-10 for Scotland. You're welcome to tag along.

We're in Bellshill, but can meet up anywhere along the (yet to be decided) route.

Aborted. It's peeing down here, and forecast for the next five days. Will probably look at next Friday evening. Have got a good backroad route sorted.

  • BigSkyBrad changed the title to McWestie chippy run - (now) Friday 9th July?

Between 7 and half-past?

Forecast is for drizzle in Perth - but BBC Weather get it wrong by the hour.

Lovely warm evening for a run. Our single-track blast from Kilsyth to Stirling saw only one car come the other way. V6 Steve and Tiger Jim&Jean met us at Stirling services, then on to a brilliant single-track from east of Dollar through to the A9 before Perth (marred only by a slightly slow car and an ignorant tractor). We were meant to pop out on to the A9, but made a wrong turn in Dunning and ended up coming out in the middle of Perth instead of the back road from east of Crieff to Dunkeld.

Good roads none the less, and met Gary at Dunkeld for nice fish and chips on a park bench., and a good natter til the midges started in. A good reason to call it for the evening, with everyone going their own way home. We had a brilliant twilight blast via the Dunkeld to Crieff road we didn't do on the way up, and pulled over just before back on the A9, to put the hood on as it was getting a little nippy. Got home at 10:55.

Originally, the evening was to be a date night for Diane and me, but she suggested as we were taking the Westie we should if anyone else wanted to join in (on the run!) - and we were glad we shared our evening with nice friends.
