Morris
A long shot, but does anyone have a spare oil filter head union adaptor that fits between the block-to-filter-head oil transfer pipe and the oil filter head on an A-Series engine? The adaptor becomes redundant if an oil cooler radiator is fitted, but I'm fitting an oil intercooler so I'll be needing one (and they are like hen's teeth to buy!). Number 161 in the diagram below (I'm unsure of the thread sizes). Cheers. Morris.

It is the same thread as the banjo bolt at the other end of the pipe that screws into the block. Below is an adaptor sold to connect an oil cooler pipe (1/2" BSP) to the block (5/8" UNF). So yes, they are both male threads, 5/8 UNF at one end and 1/4 NPT at the other (that screws into the oil filter head).
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison
If it is 5/8UNF to 1/4 NPT, Google says thats whats used on Calor gas bottle adaptors https://www.lpgshop.co.uk/calor-swivel-connector-uk-pol-5-8-unf-to-1-4-npt/

They may be able to assist. I tried AH Spares but no luck. Eventually I found 'Guessworks' which sells new adaptors (TCZ106) which has the 5/8" UNF thread on one end to screw into the original oil link pipe. They also sell a braded link pipe with a female 5/8" UNF fitting at one end and a banjo fitting at the other for those who want the original end fittings but with a modern braded pipe. Price is good too!

Morris
Yes, I tried all the usual suspects. Guessworks is the only company that has stock. Covid is probably affecting the suppliers.

DIY-Si
@Morris, would this do it? Not overly cheap, but you'd have a spare set up. This one is cheaper.

Thank you chaps. £15 for the filter head, pipe, banjo and adaptor would have been a real bargain, but I've now found this one which is new (in addition to the second hand pipe and new banjo bolt which I have already bought):
