How long ago was this Paul, wonder if they have changed it now?. Also then, given what the 2011 form asked how did 2021 compare?.

That's odd, I got asked it I have just logged back in to it in case I answered it wrong, and it's the last question under Household and accommodation. Richard (OldStager)
Ah, well i must have missed that then, so you can go back and amend stuff then, I haven't tried that yet
Richard (OldStager)
I tried to use the code you get to log back in and was presented with this. This page is no longer available Your census has been submitted.
Glen_I
Thats typical, I am sure I read changes can be made at a later date if anything changes? I haven't submitted mine yet as I don't have a clue about my wife's various qualifications so that's as far as I got.
Glen_I
I can log back in with no issues and change/update but is that due to me not submitting it then?
Glen_I
I too was surprised about all the different gender and sexual preference questions, had to read that carefully before I am signed up as something different.
Richard (OldStager)
Ah well, yeah if you haven't submitted it then, I can why you will see it. Bit like posting a letter, once in the post box that's it you can't get it back 😄

Richard (OldStager)
I've been wondering, anyone else living as a single household like me have the car question ?. My thoughts are that if you have say a 4 person family they present that question to you, but being single as I am they didn't. It annoys me I missed a question. The questions at the top of each page to which you were given the multiple choices to answer, were quite personal as it were. And if I did miss a question, why did the website let me press continue ( onto the next page)?. I may be wrong just can't believe I didn't see a question with car in it, lol. I'm a single household but I have three cars and two bikes. If they don't gather that info not sure how they can use the census for "future planning". And whilst the ads are saying that, what relevance is ones qualifications to whether the council provide more or fewer bin collections or their budget for pavement repairs or future housing planning and what-not? I fully agree with you there, the how did i do at school questions were a bit odd and didn't see what that info could possibly have any use for future generations. I am by nature a cynic so I always hate filling in stuff when I don't know how the info will be used, as I always think there is more to this than we are being told, but that's just me. ETA I may have just missed the question, but the website should not have let me proceed, just like when you fill any other web form in. Blatman
We all give away far too much information about ourselves. In the internet age and with us carrying computing platforms with us all the time, it's almost unavoidable. That said, I don't use social media at all so searching for my real name right now doesn't find me. Searching Blatman leads to 3 places usually, here, The Lotus 7 Club forum where I was a member back in the late 90's / early 00's, and to westfield-world.co.uk, so I am reasonably content that information about me that I "casually" share is in short supply and that's just how I like it. So the census people can send me a paper form if they want my participation.

I have always been like on the internet, I don't mind giving my first name, but other than a few very old Triumph/ Hillclimb websites my surname does not bring me up, last time I looked on Google I appeared on something like page 3700 and something, if you trawled the internet for that long good on you. I don't do social media or have a mobile phone ( posts about that on here !!!) either. People often say, well if you haven't anything to hide - whats the problem. I say if you haven't anything to hide - You haven't lived...😄 ETA When the 2011 one was done, I never filled it in for months. They came knocking on my door in the end...
