Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
We are going to have a partial lifting of restrictions here tomorrow So we are going ahead with our planned trip that had to be postponed. We will be driving up to Chiang Mai, then doing to Mae Hong son loop. Paul jnr is already in Bangkok, so we will start off with a 120Km taxi ride to his apartment there, and set off on Tuesday morning, after the obligatory One Night in Bangkok https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mae_Hong_Son_Province Jnr and I will be sharing the driving, but it will mostly be me, cos' he is addicted to his phone Tee shirt and camera at the ready
AdamR
I bl**** love Chiang Mai. Highly recommend heading up towards Doi Suthep if you're allowed up there and have time. Great strawberry juice available all along the roadside, and the air gets cooler and cleaner the higher you go. Have fun and look forward to the pics!

Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
Leg one completed 255 miles, the temperature at times reached 36c 😎 Sukhothai is the ancient capital of Thailand and is a World heritage site, so we visited some old ruined temples, sorry no cars. Jim RS
Place looks deserted, are you sure you are allowed out, were they all keeping clear of the foreigner lol?
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
Everywhere is deserted, no tourists anywhere. We are just a couple of refugees fleeing the persecution of covid in our own country
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
The roads you find when you haven't got you Westfield. Today we drove from Sukhothai to Chom Thong 156 miles. When we got here we visited a Temple and a waterfall. and found this road.

Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
Today's journey looks quite short, but it involved a few detours to, a 4K nature trail in the cloud forest at 7000ft, a waterfall, a couple of Stupas, and the highest point in Thailand.

Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO
Wow the Mae Hong Son loop is like a 600km version of the Nurburgring on steroids. We are now at Pai about half way round and probably as far north as it goes.
