Gary Taylor Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 evansandsonrallyspares.co.uk used them for my stuff look under axles, English and scroll down £6 each
woodman Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 thanks for link Gary. The ones i am after look more like the 'leaf spring saddles' but with a hole top/bottom to attach trailing arms.
Gary Taylor Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 The only other ones I know off are the group4 type or a long shot but ask Patrick @Westfield Parts Dept if they have any old stock 1
Mark (smokey mow) Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Stu, if you can't source any they would be very easy for a fabricator to make or even yourself. The Locost builders make them from steel box section with one face cut off. the dimension of the Westfield part are as below. 2
jeff oakley Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 I was going to say the same Mark, where ever you get them from you need to take care when welding them on as the axle will warp if you are not careful. Westfield had a jig to do them in to stop the twist. Last one I did I made a jig to fasten the banjo diff mount and each axle end and it didn't move much at all. Small welds at opposite corners and let it cool between as you need a good bit of power to get the penetration right 2
woodman Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 Thanks for the drawing Mark. Just what I needed. I will pass on to fabricator Thanks for welding tips Jeff. Far too trickey for me, I will be getting an expert to weld them on
