That looks like an extremely brave purchase to me... Quote

Kit Car Electronics Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Come on @Rush Motorsport, surely you've read the suggestions and gone out and bought something completely different by now? Quote
TAFKARM Posted November 5, 2020 Author Posted November 5, 2020 Not yet.... I’m considering a 5.7l Grand Cherokee... 2 Quote

I had the 3l Mercedes diesel and that was the best tow car I ever owned although my use mostly included maximum weight 3.5 tonnes where there is little choice. Off road was acceptable but highway cruising was sublime especially in the huge armchairs. I wanted the petrol with gas conversion but they are very rare. Quote
TAFKARM Posted November 6, 2020 Author Posted November 6, 2020 I think we’ve settled on “none of the above” and are looking for a Disco 4. Quote
the stoat Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 If it is not too late, take a look at the Mercedes CLS shooting brake. It is weirdly cheaper than an E class despite being more expensive when new. I have one and think it is great. Very very comfortable. Only complaint is the boot is smaller than you would expect. BenD Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 My father in law has had 3 x5's the latest iteration being an msport 3.0d have to say its a very nice car. I shall be trying to buy it when he comes to move it on Quote
TAFKARM Posted November 6, 2020 Author Posted November 6, 2020 I’ve got a Labrador and I’m not sure he’d appreciate the CLS roofline! Dont need to decide until end of December when the company car goes back anyway. Quote

I had a lease one from new and it still came with electrical/electronic gremlins. It was a fantastic car though, and I absolutely loved it. Just wouldn't want to be the owner... 1 Quote
Alan France Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 I had the 5.7 in my Camaro, lovely engine. Only problem I had with that car was the LSD. Can’t better the sound of a small block Chevy. ... just add petrol... just add petrol... just add petrol. Quote
