Black Shadow
Can some one help I have just come to fit my rear brake capliers and I think I have the wrong ones. If I where to bolt the calipers onto the rear hubs as per the build manual there is no way that the disk will run between the pads. Am I right in thinking that there are no spacers that should go between the caliper and the rear hubs ? I have a pic of the problem but could work out how to load into the post. If someone has a pic of there rear brakes that might help me. Thanks Nigel
Leon B
The discs have a big offset so initially it looks like its a long way off but in fact its not. Get a pic up if you can. You need to upload it to your webspace then link to it using the image tags

adhawkins
It's a bit small...did you reduce it to 'avatar' size? There's no need for posting an image into a post. Andy
Black Shadow
Getting the hang of this now, my first time posting so thanks for all the help.
Blatman
Looks to me like the caliper is fully compressed, judging by the dust covers on the slider. Also, the caliper mount is nowhere near level with the lug it's gonna mount on. Have some faith, I reckon.........
ian_perry
Your calipers look to be the right ones, just a thought but do you have the correct brake disks? As Leon B says they have a large offset, I'm almost sure mine have a larger offset than the ones in your picture - therefore bringing the disk further inboard IYSWIM The brake disks for the rear are escort Mk iii,iv,v front disks IIRC HTH Ian
Black Shadow
Blatman, I've just tried to fit this again, I have taken another pic which might help expalin the problem. I did extend it but I'm sure these are not right. Have a look at this one, I might be doing something stupid ....
Blatman
Er, the calipers mount outboard of the lugs, IIRC.......
ian_perry
Must learn to type quicker! But after looking at your last picture I think I'm right.... you've got the wrong brake disks
