Although I think I may be cheating.

With all my music as MP3's in one folder I just do a search on a word and up pop the results - Allowed ?.

Not cheating, sometimes I do the same - it's the time spent on Youtube getting the best version for the link that I get caught out on. Because I know the track and enjoy listening to it (and end up doing just that) - by the time I've got back to the forum to paste it, someone's got in first! As the saying goes at the nightclub "if you procrastinate, you masturbate"!

Now, seeing that I have set my own rule of having to physically own what I post, I've had to order it on CD!!

I have a NAS with almost 2000 mostly lossless albums on it. Searchable from my phone 😊

I started ripping my CDs to NAS which I can access remotely but soon realised mp3s weren't up to my other media hifi reproduction standards.

So been intending to start up a high res ripping set up. But the time to do it is daunting.

An uncle of mine started recording everything to DAT some time ago, ripping CD's etc. Not entirely sure that was the way to go, since it's still tape after all. The blank tapes became harder and harder to get hold off as well.
