Sparkymart Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 This loon is doing 200mph while holding his phone to film the speedo https://news.sky.com/story/police-to-investigate-horrific-video-of-car-driving-more-than-200mph-11992337?fbclid=IwAR3Xwr2o99dsrsGQN0l7dyxjafHVUKSxYTx-a32cpYwQqacPJBA0bzT4o80 Quote
Terry Everall Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 If its true and not fake news he want locking up and key throwing away. Its the others safety on the road I would be worried about Quote
Captain Colonial Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 It’s an Audi R8 to my eye, probably the V10 version. That will hit just over 200 mph. Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 It was reported to be an Audi RS6 but it's the same engine as an R8 V10 isn't it? Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 There was also another rs6 doing 200 but in worse circumstances out of London the day after. I assume both can be identified if police prepared to commit enough resource to it. Quote

pistonbroke Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 You would think at least one of the commuters he passed at that speed would have reported to the coppers ! Quote
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Can be that many RS6 registered in the UK. Cell mast data will incriminate the owner. Quote
Blatman Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 I have a feeling trolling for cell data requires a warrant, and a suspect. Whilst we can all clearly see the offence it'll need a bit of work to figure out who, where and when, and this is where it falls down. From my own personal experience (some years ago now) the police are not keen to investigate "cyber" crime. I think it makes their heads hurt, bless 'em... Quote

Blatman Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 And what has Pistonheads had to say about it? Has anyone actually complained to the authorities, or Pistonheads management about these? Quote

Largely a bunch of M sport badged 320D driving prats, who wouldn't know the right end of a screwdriver, i've given up on that website, the only car related thing they're "enthusiasts" about is getting a new one every 2 years when their last deal runs out. The video in question was linked from Youtube I believe, and if traced was probably being driven by the owners unrelated bruncle, or worse it was a customers car from a dealership going on a "test drive". The best we can hope is that the Police can trace it's route and find CCTV of the driver. 1 Quote
