Notifications

Hi all.....

 

It's probably user error on my behalf but I dont seem to receive notifications?

 

I have ticked the relevant tick options, and receive emails okay but unless I keep checking the website I am none the wiser...

 

Any ideas???

 

My phone is a Samsung S8 (Android) if this makes any difference??

I had s similar issue a while back.  It was only resolved when i used another email address for the notifications.

 

It was if my original email was blocking the notifications.

 

Luckily i had another to substitute on my WSCC site profile...

Yeah sometimes there’s not a lot we can do (that we don’t already do) to stop mail ending up in spam because we send a lot of automated and server generated mail. Some mail providers are particularly picky though!

Hi, 

 

I am receiving emails okay with no issues, I was just hoping for a notification to alert me without having to go through emails...

 

Is this issue connected to my email provider?

Just to be clear. I was receiving all other emails too, it was just the notification ones from WSCC that stopped suddenly after being ok for 5 yesrs.

 

Maybe a phone upgrade, maybe a PC related software update, im not sure but something changed at my end which stopped the wscc notification emails.....

That will possibly coincide with the way we changed sending notifications. 
 

I won’t go into details as I simply don’t have time right now, but we had major problems with the old method (Using our own server) and swapped to a bulk email service (sendgrid) - But some email still gets sent from our server. Occasionally sendgrid get abused by a spammer and they get blacklisted. They do this for a living and so get un-blacklisted fairly quickly while kicking off the spammer. We could pay for a dedicated IP and avoid this but it is pretty expensive and unless it becomes a huge issue we don’t want to spend your money on it.

My notifications have stopped too. I’ll try a different email address.

Yes, thanks. Still using the original email address. Had a look at the settings, ticked a couple of boxes, and everything works now. Don't understand why it stopped tho’. Fingers crossed.
