So to balance out the subject what do you like?

Best for me is so simple and cost about 5p.  Only fitted to Skodas since about 2000, can yo guess what it is?

Adjustable speed limiter. Much more useful than cruise control.

Quite a lot then. I don’t like the reversing sensors, the beeps drive me mad but have the camera, it’s brilliant for reversing up to the trailer hitch.

Can't knock the general safety and refinement improvements in modern cars.

Some of the accidents you see and people walk away from are unbelievable and would have ended differently in cars of previous times.

My guess - The car park ticket clip on the drivers side windscreen pillar.

Parking sensors, reverse camera, (not on current car, but I miss it!) heated seats, programmed wash wipe, with that little after sweep to catch the annoying drips, central locking, drive-away-auto-locking, auto dipping rear view mirror, did i mention heated seats!

Do Skoda not have a screen scraper in the fuel flap or is it a tyre tread depth “stick”. It’s been a while since I looked at one but there were a lot of clever wee design things I seem to remember.

I know this is in the 'hated' thread aswell so guess its manufacturer specific. But I really like my auto handbrake. It just works seamlessly.

Agreed, when set up well, they can be great, but a bit of poor set up and they go to pot! I had, a few years ago, four or five virtually identical 520d touring's in succession, in two, the handbrake worked flawlessly, in the rest, it just didn't, either coming in too early or late.

Heated seats and to a lesser degree heated steering wheel

cruise control

rear parking sensors (and in the current larger car front sensors) with the graphic on the dash

auto wipers, auto lights (though with these you do have to think about some low light situations and switch on yourselves)

flick indicators that blink a set number of times

DAB radio, USB audio, bluetooth audio connectivity, carplay

height adjustable drivers and passengers seats

dual zone Aircon

A couple I did not think I'd appreciate until I used a car with them - powered tailgate and head up display
