Been lurking for a little while - but wanted a Westy since test driving a factory car about 20 years ago but never wanted to commit to the 'kit' approach. Since then had more mainstream toys such as Lotus and TVR and lots of bikes. Now my daughter and son in law are A&E doc and Air Ambulance paramedic respectively the 'bikes' are out of the equation - well at least if I want them to talk to me at all!

So needed the rawness of something fast and loud! Have taken the plunge - and wanted to reassure 'Sand Dancer' thet his meticulously constructed orange baby is coming to a good home here in the 'Rhins of Galloway' near Stranraer. Loads of awesome roads around here to play on - just waiting for it to be delivered. Couldnt bring myself to have the first drive as 300 miles ( if I take the motorway!!) in the currently freezing weather.  So hopefully will be out and about very soon.

Hopefully see some others out on the roads locally.

:ww:Jerry. I recall the name Sand Dancer. We look forward to seeing some pics of your car. @Gary Taylor - Scotland AO is your Area Organiser, however I'll leave him to advise how 'local' you are to him and the clan. They get as far south as Austria and Italy, so aren't shy of doing the miles!

Helloo up there from down here!

Sensible choice as that might have been soul crushing and freezing too!

I'm sure your kids will continue to provide sage advice once they see it and definitely if they go for a ride! But as we know its not the car that gets us into trouble...

Have fun and enjoy those super roads!

I hate reading this.

family saying basically "we love you that much that we want you to be unhappy and miserable"... (and I don't like bikes AT ALL).

However, most of this people ends finding happiness buying a Kit Car... that is just as fun, as exciting... and dangerous. 😂 (shhhhhh, we won't tell anyone).

I had a very similar conversation with a friend over the Christmas break Maurice. Shame really!

Welcome mate from way down south...

Your doing well if an ex biker.....you need to drive a westfield as though you are on a bike...other drivers seem to miss westfields like they were bikes...must be because we are so low down and not what they are expecting....even with lights on goodness me...

Nearly as much fun and performance (more in the corners lol) and slightly safer.....

It will still hurt if you go off lol...

Mart.

nicely edited lol!
