Rob Hunter - Club Secretary Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 Not sure if I'll be able to make this one @Julie Hall - Peak District AO It's my better half's birthday weekend (21 again apparently 😂) so I probably won't be allowed out to play 1 Quote

Make it so special and intense that you then need the following day off to recover ,simple ! 😁 If it’s the Sunday tell her it’s going to be that good you need the Saturday off to plan it ,which you can do from the stress free environment of your car .👌 1 Quote

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted January 1, 2020 Author Posted January 1, 2020 The date has been set for SATURDAY. I have a plan for you @RobH72, buy her something horsey so she will be keen to go and try it out on Saturday, then promise her a great day on Sunday as a thank you for being so patient. Perhaps buy a take-away cake on Saturday as a surprise. Send Happy Birthday wishes to her from us and tell her what a lovely set of guys she has surrounding her, long, but lovely. (Note for everyone else, these guys are all 9ft tall) 1 Quote
Andy_R Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 The weather is currently looking good and I need to get over the 1,000 mile mark so, assuming my daughter is well, I'll be there in the Cobra! 3 Quote
RallyVW Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Might just crudely bolt Kiki back together and come over if @LukeW is out would be nice to meet up with him and thank him for his kind offer of some replacement indicators. Will just have to avoid those pesky sticks at Chatsworth this time 3 Quote

Andy_R Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 All looks good for me ... just got to fuel up on the way. I ordered a new heated jacket, gloves, controller and battery pack this week but it doesn't arrive till the 11th ... so I'll just have to freeze tomorrow 😂🥶 1 Quote

Andy_R Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Thank you @Julie Hall - Peak District AO for allowing the token Cobra owner to join in again 😉 After all I've been through with my daughters condition it's great to be part of the Westfield family and it means a lot to still be accepted. I ended up taking a wrong turning on my way home however it turned out for the best as I went up via the Fiddlers Elbow ... which was a fantastic place to stop and enjoy a cigar after the sun came out! 6 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 Great 'on the move' photo's there Luke, thanks for posting them. Glad you enjoyed it, and you popped your Winnat's Pass cherry 😁 Meeting us at Sainsburys were Luke, Steve (with Stuart), Andy, Richard and Kevin Steve Richard Richard, who proceeded to try and nick Tangoman, just because he suits your car better than mine, tut. Luke Luke Andy proudly told us that his Cobra is featured in the latest Total Kit Car magazine. I didn't get chance to read it but it looks fabulous and is spread over 4 pages, it would sit well in our Westfield World magazine if you fancy a bit of writing Andy? Richard had only come to pick up the indicators from Luke and had to leave us here. We took the big roads up to The Rambler Inn, Edale which meant that Luke got to finally drive up the Winnats Pass. As we were slightly early for lunch I thought we would have a little photo shoot on the way. We are parked in a bus turning area, but the bus is a tourist bus and only runs in the summer, so cheeky sods like us can take full advantage of it. That got us to the Rambler Inn just in time for it opening, but not before a n head parked in our spot 1 minute before us Bonnets came flying off and tyres were kicked until it started raining and we headed indoors for lunch Kev's ST170 engine Billy joined us in the Porsche Tangoman came too We had lunch while watching the sideways rain come down, made worse when Steve's wife messaged him to say it was lovely sunshine in Rutland. After lunch we all got in our wet Westfields, but wait a minute, look at this, Bill is claiming that his roof is broken. How hard did you jam it with the screwdriver? He said he is going to search Sarah's handbag when he gets home as he is conviced there will be a missing part of his roof in it. I had to change my finish point because Steve had fetched Stuart with him and needed to deliver him back to Matlock, I refused to change my route, it is the best bit of the day, so we defected to good ol' Tagg Lane. We had a good run there, with a free run up the steep Mam Nick road, enjoying the twisty bits and keeping a good convoy on the emptier roads. I can really tell that my shock absorbers and springs have been changed, it's great, they really work. Tagg Lane It soon got messy. White chocolate and hazelnut ice cream for me. Perhaps they were expecting Ian's daughter, Charlotte, my little Kinderella, who would have enjoyed today Back outside Luke showed us that not only did he have a lovely engine bay housing the Honda lump but he also had the cleanest oil in his engine, it was cleaner than when it comes out of the container. Watch that Billy, he is still showing off in his t-shirt. Steve followed us down the twisty Via Gellia road and back to Matlock as we said our goodbyes to all. Thank you everyone for coming all the miles today, we kept a good convoy and nobody broke down, hopefully you all got back in the daylight. It was largely dry, it's just that the high ground is unpredictable this time of year, but it is where the best views are. 8 Quote
