The other car is a Range Rover so as a result I have the best breakdown cover money can buy!  I know what @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO is eluding to but I am not rising to it 🙂

I've heard 🤣

But just so you know... our Breakdown cover is top notch 👌

hate to be making a claim.

One of our lads had to Claim recently with A-plan and he was amazed at just how good they were when it counted - another had policy changes to make and again nothing but praise.

I must admit, A. Flux dealt with my claim several years ago and all was good.

Reality is you only really know when the worst happens - cheapest may not be the best.

The problem any “these guys are great/terrible” post is that so much will depend on your own experience and let’s face it, with insurance a lot will depend entirely on the individual getting a quote.

I paid £165 with Adrian Flux (full comp, 3000 miles garaged, 50+, clean licence, two previous claims), it was cheaper than A-Plan. Maybe location had something to do with it, and the big camper with them too - though the camper was dearer with A-plan also.

The fully comp, value agreed, 2000mile/yr insurance on the classic car I used to keep in NZ up until three years ago cost NZ$74 (£38)!

The main thing is you tried us 😁 sad to hear we weren't competitive for you though... Try us again next time around, hopefully we can do better for you 👍

Wanted to stay this year with A plan but the track day cover that I was interested in was more reasonable with AF

5 trackday's 500 blanket xs on the policy 2000 miles. £220 thought that was decent, will do Agreed value for a bit more

That's a shame, generally track excess is roughly 10% of the indemnity value of the car, whilst the road excess is much lower. Try us again next year :) as we do the bulk 5 days too.

Well yesterday I just insured my third car with A-Plan!

The Westfield (3.5L V8) is going into storage for a while and A-Plan were able to provide a policy for this despite it being away from my residence.

They gave me a competitive quote for the Cobra (also a 3.5L V8).

And finally my brand new Porsche 718 Cayman 2.0L flat 4 with 300bhp (which I picked up tomorrow from the dealer ... and yes @Julie Hall - Peak District AO you're welcome a drive in it!) was given a very competitive quote which beat all those cheap dodgy policies on compare the insurance type comparison sites.

Very impressed with the service so far and when the Range Rover comes up for renewal I'll also be contacting them ... although with four cars being insured I'd expect a very nice discount, some fine wine and a burger at Stoneleigh @A-Plan Insurance THATCHAM 🤣

Just throwing it out there... we do home insurance too 🤣

But the more you have with us the more discount we can apply on the additional policies so it's actually worth having all your eggs in one basket so to speak!

Thanks for the comments Andy_R!

I rang the number on the website went through what I was looking for then I was re directed to the northern office in Oxford, where I had to go through the details again. I'm still actually waiting for the chap I was dealing with to ring back about no claims bonus and an actual quote, its only been 2 months, of lost business, of which Hastings direct now have.

Unfortunately the generic aplan website redirects you to your most local branch as it has location built in - we now use www.aplanspecialist.co.uk which only goes to us in Thatcham - I would however like to take a look at your quote to see why it wasn't put through to ourselves and hopefully pop a diary in for our team to call you as it pops up for renewal next year if that's ok? Sorry about the inconvenience this time around.

If you can PM me your name and registration or post code I'll be able to find you on our system.
