tex Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 For years I've been with Adrian Flux for the insurance on my Megabusa, I've had fully comp, 7500 miles and an agreed value option. This year it would of cost £480! I'm 53 with a clean licence not living in a high risk area. They also are now undervaluing the car against the market value... I've seen adverts recently for 3k more than they were offering for cover... That's no good to me if it were written off or nicked... So had a shop round... A-Plan - same deal and with the value I'd asked for came in at £160... what the devil Mr. Flux....?! When I told fluxy boy they upped the value to what I asked for... No cheaper but come on... I had to pay to get out of the policy then pay the new premium but the still left me quids in... Worth a look if your thinking, apparently Aplan is run by a westy owner? So knows the cars well. Nemesis Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Looks to me like you were a victim of Premium 'Walking'...... I avoided this last year when I got my renewal from Messrs Flux..... and insured with Lancaster for a much lower fee..... There's a lot of that 'punish the loyal' going about you know..... but to date I've never had a competitive quote from A Plan, maybe they don't like the V8's. Nem.......... 1 Quote

Impressed Only just seen this! Welcome to the A-Team Yes, Henry our branch manager here used to own a westy - unfortunately had to sell it a few years back but is determined to get another in the future! He knows the scene and is the main reason A-Plan started acquiring kit car policies with insurers! See you at Stoneleigh or Kit Fest hopefully 😄 I will be at both Carlie Quote
AndrewBClarke Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 I’ve just renewed my Aplan insurance. Same premium as last year but with car value increased by £2k and with no claims bonus cover thrown in. £170 fully comp. 5000 miles and parked on drive (as it is in a oak garage that potentially doesn’t fulfill the garage requirements). V8 3.5ltr. When I first got the Westy, I shopped around and went with Flux. Soon learn that Aplan was better and never looked back. Keep it up Aplan. 😀 3 Quote

Yes Garages have to be brick built with most insurers to count! Glad to have you on the A-team for another year Carlie Quote

cast iron Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 A-plan were flipping useless when trying to insure my Freelander. If taking a policy out was difficult I'd hate to be making a claim. I've never paid over £100 for my Westfield insurance, with the likes of Frank Pickles Quote

I've never paid over £100 for my Westfield insurance, with the likes of Frank Pickles I'm surprised at that we have specialist 4x4 schemes including off road cover in Thatcham Branch - admittedly the local branches are not as competitive on specialist vehicles which is why we direct you to us... try us again at renewal, you never know! Insurers change their criteria all the time as stats change etc. We also have an in-house claims team which is a real plus as we sit on hold for hours to insurers so you don't have to - sorry you didn't have a great experience before, but don't give up on us 😏 Carlie 2 Quote

Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 I've found A-Plan really good and used them for my Westfield XI and also Race Car storage & Transit, but always remember "You can't please all of the people all of the time" 1 Quote
