What hoods have people got? Ideas needed.

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a hood for my Westfield. Which is a 2014 with full screen and have existing side/door panels already. Note it's a non FW back end (so not the rounded back - end), with an MSA rollbar. Ideally looking to get a full hood. But all I can find is the half hood from Westfield. Soft bits don't seem to do anything else either.

Looking for ideas of what others have done and where have you got them from?

TIA

There isn’t a full roof for the roll bar you have, best option for you is half hood 👍

That's what I've seen so far. Ideally I was looking for a full hood. Wondering if anyone has had one custom made...

I've made this back/sides to go with my half hood but to be honest only used it a couple of times as half hood and full doors keep you dry 99 percent and having the open back keeps a bit of air flow to stop windscreen steaming up

That looks good, where did you get it made? I take your point on the air flow though, it would get rather steamy in wet weather. Also the tie down straps from the half hood, where do they connect to? They look like they go into your boot, just wondering how they would fit on mine...

The back section was made by my Missis using an old full hood which was too tatty to use, my tie down straps run under the boot lid and around the boot box where I fitted a rivnut to secure to locating screw for the pull the dot fixing

Hi here’s a couple of pictures of our westy

full doors sfs half hood with easy out zips

if you zoom in on the ferry picture you can see how it attaches

we did 3500 miles round Europe and even in torrential rain We stayed dry ( just confirmed by my wife) and the air flow with the half hood meant no misting up of the screen and doors

I do keep a couple of microfibres cloths handy as  back up in case they’re needed

That looks really good. I'll have to have a look at mine as I've not got a boot box yet. That's the winter job ☺

I’ve got a full hood, but it doesn’t fit properly, because of this and after seeing a couple of half hoods and speaking to the guys that own them I have decided to order a half hood from soft bits. I bought a storm cover off them previously so I’ve seen the quality of the work and the extra options Like choice of a bag helped swing where I got the hood from.

I did a bit of research into getting a full hood made for MSA rop - a custom full hood by a trimmer in Manchester would have been £1200 + depending on materials!

Cheaper if several were being done.

Thanks all for your responses, from what I can see the half hood is the way to go.

My personal preference was to keep to a full hood, definitely much dryer and I never had issues with fogged windscreen.

BUT half hood still good, but I got drenched with it driving back from Silverstone - and since having it I've definitely been less inclined to go out in poorer weather.

I also suspect that half hoods work best with lower rops rather than MSA which are much higher.
