EU then and now per Leo McKinstry.

11 April 2019     "Our snowflake MPs wallow in their failure at delivering Brexit," says LEO McKINSTRY.

 https://www.express.co.uk/comment/columnists/leo-mckinstry/1112860/MPs-failure-brexit-wallow-whitehall-leo-mckinstry-column

"They (our MPs) prefer to procrastinate and preen while wallowing in their own manufactured victimhood."

"Through their self-indulgent whining, our MPs have revealed once again their detachment from the real world. Surrounded by their retinues of sycophantic assistants, pontificating on every platform they can find, they think they are highly professional.  But so far they have miserably failed in their most important job: to implement the democratic verdict of the British people. 'The hypocrisy would be laughable were it not so offensive."

THEN GO BACK 8 YEARS TO

20 Jan 2011   "A huge deception at heart of the European Union".

"George Orwell, that great British patriot, once wrote that “political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable”.

  https://www.express.co.uk/comment/columnists/leo-mckinstry/224261/A-huge-deception-at-heart-of-the-European-Union

" They pretend that the EU is only an economic arrangement, knowing full well that Brussels is bent on the creation of a federal superstate."

"This process of integration is accelerating. Far from feeling humiliated by the collapse in the euro’s credibility the  federalists have been privately squealing with delight at the opportunity to extend their powers.

Stronger oversight of national budgets, tighter  regulation and new european bureaucracies in pensions, banking and insurance have all resulted from the crisis. Meanwhile Brussels chiefs are  cranking up the pressure for their own taxes so they can bully us even further."

"In characteristically deceitful fashion British supporters of the EU try to cover up the destruction of our independence by blathering about  “pooling our sovereignty” with Brussels. These are more weasel words. The idea of “pooled  sovereignty” is theoretical  nonsense. Ultimate power can only lie with one body and thanks to our treacherous politicians that body is now the EU."

THEN MOVING FORWARD TO THE LONG TRUMPETED EXIT DATE OF 29 MARCH 2019 WHICH FAILED TO HAPPEN

28 Mar 2019    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2019/03/28/theresa-may-sake-nations-sanity-please-just-admit-defeat-deal/

"Theresa May, for the sake of the nation's sanity, please just admit defeat on your deal and go." LEO MCKINSTRY.

Clearly Mrs May is a one-trick pony who has failed spectacularly, has no Plan B and must go immediately if anything is to change.

I thought after trying things the EU route for 46 years it was time for an alternative but it may never happen and some will approve (only democracy will suffer).

Tusk on Brexit extension: "Please do not waste this time"    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-47889208/tusk-on-brexit-extension-please-do-not-waste-this-time

So our MPs have  just set off on their Easter hols..

https://www.parliament.uk/about/faqs/house-of-commons-faqs/business-faq-page/recess-dates/      House of Commons recess dates.

Easter  11 April 2019 to 23 April 2019, now in progress.

Post-Summer dates still to be announced, but in 2018 were:-

Summer  24 July 2018  to 4 September 2018

Conference  13 September 2018 to 9 October 2018.

So looks like about 80 calendar days potentially lost because of holidays and conference season before the new EU deadline of 31 Oct 2019.

Let's hope they come back refreshed and ready to put the Country first to reach a resolution.

The Telegraph article says Lord Neil Kinnock will soon be joined in the House of Lords by his wife; another nice little earner.

I keep saying it, never give power to people that want it.
