TAFKARM Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 After breaking a “maplin special” and now a Dremel 3000 has given up the ghost after not much service, any recommendations for a replacement Dremel alternative. Ideally one that I can use all the same bits. Unless @jimbobtcc206 is selling one of course! Quote
Kingster Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Honestly, the cheapo Parkside model from (I think it was) Lidl has lasted me 4 years of abuse brilliantly. Oh and the Maplin one I bought prior to it lasted about a month! Quote
TAFKARM Posted April 5, 2019 Author Posted April 5, 2019 My first girlfriend was a cheap parkside model! 1 Quote
jeff oakley Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Used my Dremel a lot and never had an issue. What is it your want to do with it? I ask as they are meant for small detail work, if it is heavier work a combination of sanding drums and a Black and Decker powerfile is what I use. Quote
TAFKARM Posted April 5, 2019 Author Posted April 5, 2019 Mines just started turning on and off as if a dodgy connection, I’ve stripped it and rebuilt but it’s still on the fritz. Mostly used for trimming my carbon effect GRP, currently tweaking my GRP seats, previous job was polishing the inside of my inlet manifold. Quote
darve Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 My aldi special is great Basically same as my dremel that just stopped turning on Quote
