JohnCh Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Apparently film crews favor fast SUVs like the Cayenne for filming high speed car and motorcycle video. A German film production company, however, has seen the light and gone bike-engine Westfield. More photos are here and a video of it in action is here. -John 1 Quote
Terry Everall Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Looks very much like a Caterham to me????? Quote
JohnCh Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 They claim it's a Westfield. The scuttle, dash and transmission tunnel look like Wesfield items, but upon closer examination the windscreen is wrong, the door sill appears to be angled rather than parallel with the ground, and the way the rear arches attach is wrong. I wonder of it is a Westfield chassis with a bunch of liberties taken with bodywork, or maybe they started with a pre-lit and upgraded? -John Quote
Blatman Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Gotta be for a specific shoot. Can't see that lasing long with the extra weight of the Russian Arm. They're usually 3 axis, geo-stabilised and with huge hydraulics to operate them, to say nothing of all the gear needed to operate the camera... Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 From a brief look at the pictures it appears to be a GRP bodied pre-lit. Quote
Blatman Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Yup, square tunnel and the contoured "legs" on the dash say pre-lit to me too. Quote
WINGNUT Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Getting into @AdamR lobster build territory with that power and acclaimed weight on the video. Quote
AdamR Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 480kg? Must be at it's winter weight Andy Bates has just finished one for a customer at 488kg (with a full cage) and 200bhp, so it does seem ballpark. Quote
Terry Everall Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Thats a lot lot heavier than mine Quote
