Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Started with no spark on Good Friday. New distributor cap, rotor arm. Carbs needed to come off as rotor arm was rusted in. New fittings for carbs, started fine. First time out today, started ok, then started missing, then stopped. Wouldn't start again. Fuel pump not working, so tapped back into life. AA followed me home then car stopped on my street again. Taking the pump off tomorrow and see about a new one. Don't know how old it is, but it's been fine for the 11 years I've owned the car. Quote
Richard (OldStager) Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Was wondering if it was what I just went through after a 6 month, lay up - but yours sounds different. New pump I think, one of my old ones needed tapping then one day it stopped altogether on a run. I got one from someone on here, those red top ones, but I do have a fuel reg to limit that down for carbs. Quote

Naranja_Al Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Car show at The Griffin, Swithland. Great fun; cars, beer and pizza. What’s not to like? Car ran faultlessly too, super happy after all my wintering tinkering. 5 Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Up in the air for new fuel pump and pipes fitting. Or it would be if I'd ordered 8mm pipe not 6mm🤦♂️ 1 1 Quote
Richard (OldStager) Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Well done and exactly where I have mine too. Quote
