Mark Gibson Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 All set for a quick blast on Sunday before the rain came, and to try out my new roof/door popper arrangement 👍 8 Quote
Andrzej Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 I have also fitted my halfhood today, but to drive with it I need to get rid of seat runners, as they add up approx 2cm and its too high for me with this roof 😕 - poor visibility in front and touching hood with head. 4 Quote

Before removing the seat runners, have you tried roof bars?? They raise the roof and stop the flapping on your head. 2 Quote
Andrzej Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Not yet, that is some idea , I mean thought to make it from some fibreglass bar or sth like that. Even if not for not-touching my head, as You said for not flapping, as I assume in such roof type must be present. But - my eye level is still on upper frame ow windscreen. I constantly look above or below this frame . While If I sit in passanger seat (which I mounted without runners) its much much better. Also wind does not harm my last few hairs on head I have mounted those runners for situations if my Wife drive Westfield, but She love to sit as passanger and dont want to drive, My sons are already as tall as me, so max rear seat position is only what we used last season in fact. 2 Quote

I don't think I've ever seen rear wheel arch 'enclosures' like that before, great idea! 1 Quote

Popular Post Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset Posted February 24, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 24, 2024 The Mondeo wouldn’t start this morning, so trusty Winston came to the rescue for dropping Lorna at dance and then a run to Waitrose. She wasn’t impressed by the lack of a boot! There are 16 cans of Fanta in that bag 🤣 6 5 Quote
Andrzej Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Managed to do over hour ride - first time with doors attached Its for sure less cold inside than with Lexan side wind deflectors. Warm from heater is like "keept inside cockpit" , outside arm and shoulder not frozen . And a little easier to talk with passanger. But.. soo tight! lot of joy gone 😕 And dont know why ? - more exhaust fumes smell especialy in passanger side (exhaust is on driver side) , strange. 7 Quote

I’ve found half doors and wind deflectors a decent option to reduce buffeting and keep it a little warmer. It still restricts elbow room, but shoulders are not constrained. 5 Quote
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Cheeky little meet up at Curburgring! I was tip toeing on the way due to the cold and damp roads, but had dried up enough on the way home to unleash the VTEC 😂 7 2 Quote
Popular Post SXRORY Posted March 3, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted March 3, 2024 Winter tinkering complete! just two ball joints and the most thorough clean i think shes had since i had it (8years) I got a DA for xmas so gave it a go. It has not got rid of the bigger marks as I did not know what i was doing so went cautious, but it got rid of the washing swirls of the slap a wash mit over it job that i like to do😜. I removed side stripes as they were starting to show there age but have added some decals this year. RL200 is the engine spec being a zetec r from Raceline. I was a little unsure of how they would come out but think it works well to break up the blue. Super happy with how its come out 👍 roll on summer! 11 Quote

ianali Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 First runout with half doors fitted. Surprised how much they reduce turbulence in the cockpit. Apologies to Stuart Davies for the blatant copying. Didn’t keep my head any warmer though. 8 1 Quote
