A Monday night in the country side👍. Hardly anyone around and the one guy that was, understood the memo kindly pulling in....why does this not happen more often😐

Yep exactly. Really annoying when a car or van in front of you can see you want to get by but just doesn't bother to indicate, slow and stay left especially when there are multiple kits behind it. I guess it's only petrolheads that know to do that. Personally if there's something nice and fast behind me I can't wait to watch and hear them go by!

I've even noticed lately an element of drivers who get deliberately awkward when they see cars like ours. They wouldn't act like that with a motorbike! Happened to a mate of mine I was convoying with last week, some idiot in a BMW was in the wrong lane and got real nasty using his car as a weapon basically. More reason to run a camera on the car when on the road.

Nope, but deliberately, or unthinkingly being a mobile chicane seems to be a very British thing. And with Westfields, (I can’t speak for other kits, but they’re probably similar), it’s a more recent thing too.

You do still, generally get treated with more courtesy/thought/consideration than a mainstream manufactures performance car. But it’s not as common as it used to be, even just ten years ago.

On the continent, in particular Austria, Germany, France and Italy it couldn’t be more different. (Though you will meet dickheads everywhere).

We’ve had traffic on dual carriage ways wave us (a group of four) out from fuel stops for instance, that has resulted in them actually stopping to let the last one or two of us out. This sort of thought and approach to driving is far from a one off, either.

Two things in particular seem common. When seeing a group obviously traveling together, more instances of people waiting or waving you through. And particularly in the Germanic countries, an attitude of let faster vehicles through, this doesn’t necessarily mean performance cars, just those wishing to travel at a higher speed than you.

The car driver in front owes you nothing.

If they let you pass, great. If they don't its their choice.

On a motorbike, its not a problem.

Is the weather forecast ever correct? 🤷‍♂️😂

The Westfield brolly has been a godsend!

Wow! no aquaplanning ??(second picture? is MK not Westfield ) I have never drove on such amount of water in Westfield, smaller pudddles makes me feel like car starts to disconnect from road (road drive, road regular tyres not semislicks) , i think thats because it so lightweight, but there - a looot of water! wow!

Had my little helper out for company yesterday while working on the car. Funny when I strapped her in with my 6 point harness so she couldn’t move 🤣🤣 Seemed quite relaxed though.

I’m wondering how long I can get away with this until Mrs Stu starts to get a bit twitchy 🤣🤣 so far she has seen it and not passed comment. It’s in my office though which is the one place I can technically do what I like in terms of mess making 🤣

Finally got some decent weather to get out and take some photos of my new car.

I’ve already undertaken some minor cosmetic changes to the car; new Ford and ST170 badges to the rear, removed the stick on front plate and replaced with a smaller standard type plate (thanks @Flying Carrot Steve) and I’ve fitted a new Westfield front grill & bonnet badge.

Another Swithland Reservoir enjoyer, I think that's 3 cars in this thread who have been there to take photos!

Got out in the car for the first time in almost a month after a long holiday (and waiting for the rain to stop), I've missed it! Dropped in to Castle Combe at lunchtime to see a few of the guys on a track day.

Yes @Alex Gaskin, I live pretty local to Swithland so it’s only a stones throw from me or if you take the long way round it’s a good 1/2 hour or so and a fantastic drive 😉

Glad to have helped mate. I do a double-take every time I see your car, it looks spookily like mine despite some obvious differences (roll cage) but still freaks me out when I see a picture of it 😂

Good to see you again Paul. Hey what's that amazingly gorgeous orange machine in the background?  Best looking thing I've ever seen 😂
