It started slipping coming out of the Esses in 3rd and 4th gear. A couple of laps later chasing a 420R, something went, resulting in a bad vibration through the gearstick / tunnel and gear selection become very difficult. Quote

You may have stripped some lining off the clutch disc. Similar happened to me years ago. Flat out in 2nd, went for 3rd, got 1st instead. Large pieces of lining went into the springs of the cover, and jammed it up properly. Extreme vibration. Lucky the over-rev didn't hurt the motor. Quote
