What trestles have people bought for their builds ?

the Westfield ones looks a tad dear for what they are but if there are most suitable then I’ll order some.

 

or if anyone has any left over they would like to sell ?

I like "playing" with wood, so made my own from timber I had laying about. Advantage of being wood was I easily shortened them as my build progressed.

Easy if your reasonably proficient at woodwork, just satisfy your self they're strong enough, adequately braced, and stable.

Started off like this:

Now ended up 13" tall, high enough for me to be able to easily slide under the car. And i find is a comfortable height for "tinkering", and saves my back!

This looks a great solution although I’m not sure my joinery skills are that great.

I may enlist a friend to help.

There’s always been a Club tradition over the years of passing the Westfield Build Stands on to other users once your done with them yourself. There used to be a few sets in circulation at any one time. That said, it does seem to have tailed off a bit in recent years.

Shame really.

I built some like Adges. Easily modify-able. One thing tho. I'm just in the process of adding heavy duty castors to gain a bit of room when not building.

I was given a set which I forwarded on after my build. but to be completely honest, I only used them for a couple of days and then swapped to 4 axle stands as I found it easier to work on the car at a lower level (I'm 5'9" before somebody asks if I'm vertically challenged!).

I'm based in Marlow and I see you're in Wetherby but I will be close to the southern end of the Humber Bridge around 11:30 this coming Saturday if that helps.

The trestles suggested by Bugman may actually be more flexible. Like others I found 4 axle stands worked better for me, but I'm 5' 6"

Have axel stands as well, although seen some builds all the way to rolling on tresseles
