Rory's Dad Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Me too! I bought a trailer off ebay and it turned out the owner co-owned the new sos garage. Full of interesting stuff. Quote
DamperMan Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Last nights Fix It Again Tony, I wondered what the Id of the car was after. If it was the original then a chassis change surely I needed to be the identification of the Italian chassis which then surely needed introducing to the uk. Sorry I forgot it’s just light entertainment . Quote
Olliebeak Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Enjoyed the show although Tim can be an annoying t--t now and then. First time I had seen the Carding Shed which is mentioned quite often on here usually combined with cake and pies etc. I thought it was something to do with wool for some reason, must have a trip down there this year looks a nice part of the country with good roads. BugMan Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Just watched it, good show, lovely ending for the poor old chap, he has had it rough, nice to see the Oil Can/Carding Shed on the box, one of my local and favorite spots. Been on a morning garage tour/breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it, although it was a while ago. They are trying to move to a new building I believe, but its on hold for some reason ATM - Great food and can do gluten free so its good for my son, highly recomended if your nearby http://thecardingshed.co.uk/ Quote

Sorry I forgot it’s just light entertainment . You will probably find in those days ID tags were just a plate held on with a couple of rivets. It was in my BMC mini days , so was 2 rivets and hey presto the chassis was changed. I bought car that had a new front panel fitted but car was unfinished. (Mk1 mini) and the guy had chucked the old front panel with the chassis number away . They were readily available to buy the plates from Mini places and I had a local engraver redo the number . I am guessing that although a lot of years later, they may have had to show someone at the DVLA of the chassis changes regardless from which country it came from. I would be surprised looking at the state of it, that there was any tags on it anyway !! Quote
BugMan Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Probably rusted to dust, or burnt away with the acid dipping - that was an obvious waste of time IMHO Quote
