Have you considered turning that empty space into an income this winter.... as in I asked my local specialist to have my car for the winter with all the bits provided and cash up front .... he seemed too well off to take me up on the offer.... then next year you could have a bigger budget !!

Nem.........

Sold. Bring it round!!

I've always wanted to get an old mini and fully refurb it but with a zetec in.

Can pick them up for relatively cheap and so long as the standard mini rust issues are ok parts are readily avaliable  for everything to do with them

You know what I've always fancied doing an old mini. But id just assumed they be either a. Good and really expensive or b. Rotten through. Whilst I have a welder and can-ish weld It's not my favourite pastime on an old car. Maybe more investigation needed.

Speaking of welding another idea id had was to buy a tig welder and get some lessons somewhere. There were times during the sport 250 build I'd loved to have been able to tig up stuff.

I'm looking for a project as well. Currently looking for a Pug 205gti or LR Defender, both  are climbing in value these days, you could  also add an XR2/3 to the list if you fancy a Ford.

When i looked into it theres a few thats had the sills etc sorted and people have lost time or whatever to finish them. Some of them seemed reasonable in price as well

No idea of costs, but what about building a go-kart from scratch. Either your size, or kiddie size. Not sure if it's possible to build one to accommodate all sizes!

Hi adge. Good idea but we've already done the go kart and off road buggy. Buggy was great fun, seat was on pip pins to allow the kids to drive and then the grown up kids too. My brother in law rolled it on a beach and the Mrs suddenly lost enthusiasm. Wonder why:rolleyes:. Think I've got a pic somewhere.

Also fancied getting an RX8 and stripping it completley and using it for track.

Can pick them up cheap and would make a bit of money back on the interior you sell off

If you want something fun for track days, how about a Clio 182, or a Honda integra/civic? spend a bit of time stripping it down, improving the handling and then you've got something to have a bit of fun with on the weekends.

I always thought about an old motorbike. My neighbour bought a BSA D something recently and looks lovely, but at the time I was hoping to get a barn find Goldstar, which didnt come off, but its not too big in the garage, quite easy to tinker ( try telling the neighbour who cant get the front sprocket oil seal out !!) and you wont loose money and a fun thing too. Just get some imperial spaners !!
