These may be a good upgrade to our trailer type lights.

You'll still probably need a resister on the indicator or the flasher relay will behave like the bulb as blown and flash at double pace.

Only one but I'd want to know if you also needed to put led's on the side and front repeaters as well.  Would a mix of full fat and led's work.

I've dabbled with LED's found with twin filliment bulb replacements the difference between side light and brake light was not defined enough.    They did not use significantly brighter but simply more LED's for the brake light. Which is very different to comparing bright 15w and 5w glowing elements.

Thanks Damperman.

I will make a few enquiries I think.

It always just worries me how dim my back lights are.....oh....something I have in common with my lights. :d

SWMBO is always saying I need brighter back lights, something to do with my car being matt grey and becoming completely invisible in a downpour on the way back from a track day last year. She was in the car behind me and said she was petrified the whole way back. SHE was petrified, she should have been sitting where I was :silver-westy: :(

Keep us posted Geoffrey

I have emailed the supplier and asked about the different indicator and headlamp bulbs.

As soon as I get a reply, I will post it up.

£200.00 a pair though.

Will the angled plinth work on the Westfield arches as the westfield arch has a vertical section for mounting the lights unlike the Caterham which is curved/sloping.

I never spotted that at the time but will ask if they are going to do anything for a Westfield.

This is the reply from the manufacturer.

Hi Geoffery,

Many thanks for your enquiry in our new LED rear lights.

Fitting the LED rear light clusters will not interfere with your front/side indicators in anyway. You will need to change your flasher relay to a more modern electronic type as shown on our site. With this relay fitted you can have any combination of LED/Standard indicator bulbs. At the moment I have exactly that configuration on my car - new relay with LED Rear Lights and Standard bulbs everywhere else - it all works perfectly.

You may have noticed on the site that the availability is 'Pre-Order'. This is a new product that has just passed some rigorous testing stages. We will now look at starting production and supplying orders on a first come first served basis. I am expecting the first orders to be shipped in 4-6 weeks. You're more than welcome to wait until we have stock but please be aware the lights have had a large amount of interest and we are taking orders now.

If you're at Donington this weekend then I will be there with the lights fitted to my car.

If you have any other questions then please feel free to ask.

Kind regards

Doug Taylor
