S2000 Engine Purchased

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Ive just joined the Club and could do with a little help.

I have purchased S2000 engine to build the Mega S2000, I think its a 2003 I have the log book of the car but the engine had been swapped, I have located the Engine number F20C2 10303XX

stamped on the block. What do I need for the IVA and can I find the year from the code number.

Any advice appreciated,

Rich

Congratulations! The first and these days, biggest hurdle, out of the way!!

All Mega S2000's need cats, so there's no need to prove the engine age for IVA, all they'll need to know is the engine number of the engine (eventually) bolted into your Westfield. You will eventually need the odd receipt, engine wise, when it comes to registering the car, but not for IVA.

Without wishing to ask a daft question, but I presume you've got the gearbox too? You also need the engine loom and the gearbox mount, though you don't need the whole crossmember that the mount bolts too. You will need the two cast aluminium engine mounts, though you don't need the rubber bushes bolted on to them.

Hi Rich,

You don't need the log book You just need the engine number for the paperwork.

Yep, that's the gearbox mount (you'll need to cut it down).

Hi Dave thanks for the help,

I have an invoice from the company that supplied the replacement engine 2014, would that be ok or should I try and get something more recent?

That'll be fine, I would imagine.

Welcome to the S2000 Mega club. The engine doesnt have any dates in the castings. Can you show the inlet side of the rocker cover. It may show if it is a earlier engine or later one. Other than that, the lot later engines were fly by wire, which hopefully you dont have.

Hi,

I Know its not an AP2 it has the manual throttle body I have attached the view from the inlet side, what changed on later engines?
