Hi Maurico

It is John Williams who needs to decide if you can run in higher class at Blyton e.g. F as opposed to B2!

Class F is Modified Class under MSA Regs S12

As a result you will need an MSA log book and a Hans device

Hope this helps

Graham

Graham  I think he is suggesting Blyton Class 2F which is roadgoing not modified

That's it. Rather competing against the same blokes I do every weekend than being in a desertic class. Blyton class 2f is roadgoing kit cars, or what is called in any other event 2B.

I am glad it is now sorted

You can run in Westfield class F with either MOT, Insurance and Tax (or with just a logbook) This allows sequential box and any choice of 1A,1B or 1C tyres but if you are on 1C tyres you will need a Hans Device

Hope that helps

It will be 1B tyres.  Speaking with Graham he thinks that under S12 of the blue book I will need Hans whatever.  I have one (just never used yet) so will be covered either way.  Just need to check I have a sticker on the MSA ROPS I am fitting to replace the RAC bar

HANS is not required for road going. If 1B tyres and MOT, Taxed and  insured then you are road going. you can of course use one if you have one and wish to do so

Unfortunately the fact that David's car has a sequential box could complicate things hence my advice that if he has a Hans Device use it so as to avoid any conflicts on the day!

If he uses a log book only (which our regs allow) he will not be strictly road going also under S11 sequential gearboxes are only allowed when fitted as standard (whatever that means as far as Westfield's are concerned)

My advise to David was cover all bases if he could so he can enjoy his weekend without argument as not everything is as straight forward as it would seem or we would like.
