Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Sounds like a great idea! @CraigHew do you fancy popping over for this one? Quote
CraigHew Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 @IanK, I don't normally venture out in the Westfield at a weekend, having the luxury of not needing to work through the week, but actually things are different for tomorrow as Helen has a girlie day planned and is out until about 5pm. So, YES, I'd love to. The forecast seems dry, although I note it's absolutely gorgeous for North Wales, and I'm keen to do the Peak District a little as you know. Should I come meet up with you first or head straight to Baslow? Happy either way but you may know of some decent roads between Stoke and the Peaks. Quote

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 It's going to be one of those weekends is it? If I could swear just once on this forum, today would be the day, oh my, what an amazing day. I have been Vteched. It was flipping, blooming, very amazing, but more of that later. We met at The Wheatsheaf, and I was busy taking my photograph for the Westfield Factory Photo Competition, when Ian and Craig arrived. We set off on a lovely route right across the Peak District from it's East coast to it's West coast, so to speak. The sun was shining, the views were great and the roads were clean, dry and begging to be driven, so we obliged. We arrived at The Rudyard Hotel for our lunch. After lunch Ian offered to take me out in his car, just to see what power is in the Honda engine compared to a Zetec. I said 'yes' before he had finished his sentence, so off we went, round the block. R888's. a Honda and a man that can drive it, what's not to like?. When I first sat in it, and it was ticking over, I could feel the power, it's nothing like the Zetec. When it got going, well, I can't say on here, it's too expletive. I am left here now in a heady mixture of endorphins and adrenaline, and I am supposed to be having an early night tonight. Playing out with the Honda boys is always exciting, but today was the best. Did I say 'thank you' enough times, probably not. Thank you Ian. I wanted a warm up for tomorrow, objective achieved. Next stop - Stoneleigh, see you all there. 3 Quote
