Terry Everall
Anybody compared static noise tests with drive by With a static test level of 104db what would you expect for drive by at Blyton?
AdamR
It's really tricky due to microphone position, induction type, etc. But... My old car was 102 static test, but didn't trip the 102 drive by at Oulton or Silverstone. Does have a 'cabbage cannon' though.
Terry Everall
The drive by at Blyton is 95db
Andrew
Having just done a Blyton day, the 95b drive by limit was emphasised in the briefing. They appear to have tightened up a bit since I was last there a couple of years ago. However there was no static noise test done, and I didn't hear of anyone being kicked off. I survived the day, even though the car was giving a good old pop right by the meter! (on the right, by the start.) I'm not sure if there's another meter elsewhere, but a left side exhaust would be an advantage. Oulton days btw, are listed on MSV as 105db static and 92db drive by. Not sure if meter placements at different circuits can be compared with each other though..
